Guest Experience
Early morning and your personal ranger is waiting with the 4x4 to whisk you off for the first of the day's adventures - a drive into the still-dark bush. There are few thrills to compare with close encounters with wild animals in their own habitat.

Then it's back to Rippon's Safari Lodge where a sumptuous breakfast is waiting to satisfy your appetite. The morning is yours to do whatever you please. A swim, perhaps, in one of the two outdoor pools; a little sunbathing or simply sitting on the verandah with a good book.

Lunch is a satisfying buffet of simple home-cooked fare with choices ranging from wholesome soups and healthy salads with cold meats and cheeses to more substantial dishes if you prefer.

Or how about a picnic under a shady tree in Rippon's beautiful garden? Your basket will be individually prepared and ready, you even get a menu detailing the food on offer. And just order the drinks you want and they will be chilling in your personal ice box.

A reviving nap in the shade after lunch, perhaps, then afternoon tea and your ranger will be back to collect you for your evening game drive; your opportunity to see the bush at what many think is the best time of day, when many of the more elusive animals are at their most active.

Early evening and the animals are stirring. A short stop in the silent bush as your ranger produces your "Sundowner" drinks from the vehicle's icebox. Time to admire the dramatic views as the African sun retires beyond the horizon and it's time to return to Rippon's Safari Lodge.

A rest in your room, perhaps, before you prepare for drinks in the bar with your fellow guests and a super dinner either in the dining room or, depending on the weather, barbecue-style outside on the terrace.

A night-cap in the bar or the cosy lounge with its open fireplace after dinner, maybe, and then it's back to your comfortable room or suite for an early night to recharge your batteries ready for tomorrow's adventures.
